My name is Jess Nilsen and I am a Chicagoland photographer who has a passion for event and portrait photography. My ability to become one with my surroundings allows for me to capture the energy of the moment in a way that feels raw and genuine. With 2 years of freelance experience and 1 year of studio experience, I have worked through a diverse range of people and environments. From festivals to families, I use and gain knowledge every shoot I go out on and carry that with me to always strive for the best possible outcome. My experiences with performing and modeling offer me unique insight as to what it’s like to be in the shoes of the subjects I am capturing. I value authenticity, comfortability, and creativity. To work alongside creatives of all sorts is invigorating and inspires me to put all I have to offer on the table for others to see.
